Bruma Lake

Constructed Wetland

Created at: 31 Jan 2019

Description

The Bruma Lake was in a declining state, being constantly polluted by sewage and litter flowing in from the Johannesburg CBD. The lake had a very small base flow with a current too small for its magnitude resulting in it becoming a litter trap. It was decided that a river-like quality would be better instead of a lake thus a wetland was constructed in place of the lake in order to treat the water flowing in from the Jukskei.
