Green wall and roof on Danish Freedom Museum (2013)

Description

The museum has on top a green roof or roof covered with some form of green. The outside walls have a construction steel grips for the soil based plants to grow. Since 2013 the plants have reached the half of the building heights. At the floorlevel the building is surrounded by cortensteel construction with the required soil for the plants. It’s possible to water the plant and if necessary provide them with nutrients.

Samenvatting (Dutch description)

Het dak van het museum oogt groen op Google. Het is een groen dak of een dak bedekt met planten in bakken. De toren uit 2013 is bekleed met betonstaal dat fungeert als groeigeleiding voor de grondgebonden planten. De planten staan in een cortenstaal bak die het gebouw omringt . In de muur zijn waterkranen aanwezig en het systeem kan dus voorzien worden van water en eventueel nutriënten.
